Oh, come on, which would you rather read: modern secular society's newest pseudo-religious positive thinking crap, or a life-and-death magical battle between good and evil? I know which one I read; and I stayed up more than half the night to do it.

(The Thousand Splendid Suns, I haven't read).

Dear Brandon,

You know where my sympathies lay. However, I suspect that The Thousand Splendid Suns may also be superb (The Kite Runner was the most moving and affecting book I had read since A Fine Balance). And these numbers appear not be accurate totals as I looked further into the article, so I have to figure out what I'm reading wrong.
