On the other hand, if already thought a fool what does it hurt to confirm it? It's the person thought wise who has to remain silent.

What an excellent point. We have entirely too much pomp and circumstance and entirely too few jesters. And, it is, after all, the jesters who add spice and interest to the workaday world. Thank you.

This is one of my all-time favorite quotes. I must suffer from the delusion that others think me wise, therefore I keep my mouth shut most of the time. Probably not enough though.
